Secure Telehealth Solution with AWS Chime

I recently led the development of a comprehensive telehealth platform that leveraged AWS Chime for secure video consultations and AWS Transcribe for automated meeting transcription.

As the technical lead, I was responsible for the backend architecture and implementation, which included:

Implementing a robust user authentication system to ensure secure access to the platform

Building APIs for creating and managing virtual medical appointments, including integration with Google Calendar to surface provider availability

Developing an algorithm to intelligently generate available appointment slots based on provider schedules

Integrating the AWS Chime SDK to enable seamless video consultations between patients and providers

Leveraging AWS Transcribe to automatically transcribe video call recordings, providing a full written record of each consultation

In parallel, I led a team of frontend engineers to build a modern, responsive web application that provided patients and providers a frictionless experience. Key features included:

Intuitive booking and scheduling workflows for patients

Secure video consultation interfaces with screen sharing and in-call chat

Secure access to transcripts and other consultation records

Mobile-optimized design for on-the-go healthcare

Throughout the project, I applied best practices in software architecture, data security, and user experience design to ensure the solution met the stringent requirements of the healthcare industry. The end result was a comprehensive, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform that streamlined virtual care delivery and improved patient outcomes.
