Cinematic AI Filmmaking From Keyframes to Final Cut

Role: Creative Director, AI Filmmaker, Editor Tools: Google Flow, Nano Banana, Omni Flash 1.1, Google Flow Music, ElevenLabs, CapCut
Overview The Last Delivery is a 1 minute 47 second cinematic AI short film created through a controlled image-to-video workflow.
Instead of generating random clips and connecting them afterward, I treated the project like a small film production. I developed the characters, locations, props and visual style first, then created individual keyframes for each important shot before generating the final video sequences.
Here is the full short film
Character & World Development Before creating the scenes, I built reference sheets for the main characters, including different angles, expressions and full-body views. I also created the important locations and recurring props, such as the delivery bike, package, birthday cake, phone and rainy city environments.

This gave me a consistent visual foundation before starting video generation.
Keyframe-First AI Filmmaking Each important shot started as a carefully designed still image using Nano Banana.
I focused on:
composition
character placement
lighting
emotion
environment
camera angle
Once the frame looked right, I used it as the visual reference for generating motion with Omni Flash 1.1.

This approach gave me much more control over the final cinematography.
Maintaining Continuity
The biggest challenge was keeping the rain, lighting and atmosphere consistent throughout the film.
Because every AI generation is independent, weather intensity, reflections and environmental lighting could easily change between shots.
I generated multiple variations and selected the takes that matched the surrounding scenes best.

The recurring cold blue environment, warm practical lights and the rider's orange jacket helped create a consistent visual identity throughout the film.
Sound & Final Editing
I selected the background music through Google Flow Music and created additional sound effects with ElevenLabs.
The final film was assembled in CapCut, where I handled:
shot selection
pacing
music
sound design
transitions
final narrative flow

Final Takeaway
The biggest lesson from The Last Delivery was that strong AI filmmaking is not just about prompting.
It is about planning, visual consistency, shot design, continuity and editing.
AI generated the raw material. The filmmaking process turned those generations into one coherent story.
