The client wanted to improve the quality of their YouTube content and mentioned that their audience values the clarity of instructions and demonstrations of the techniques performed from various angles. The budget was rather small, but there were no tight time limits.

Michael B. was a DREAM to work with! His creativity and visual appeal in video editing EXCEEDED my expectations. Plus, his proactive communication and politeness made the whole process smooth and enjoyable. 🙌

To set a good mood, I put 5 seconds of the best technique demonstration cuts at the start of the video.
For the instructions to be clear for the viewer, I reinforced all technique stages with relevant animations to help understand the key principles needed to perform the technique. Additionally, I added text overlays to further reinforce understanding.
To have clean demonstrations, I inserted relevant video pieces between voice instructions and used them as b-roll where applicable.
To keep audience retention, I applied various zoom cuts and smooth zooms to maintain good pacing and made sure the second part of the video remained interesting to watch. Plus, an energetic soundtrack for good measure.
Half of the voice instructions were filmed during the demonstrations. I separated the voice from the game sounds and dynamically added them back where it was appropriate.
In the end, we have the best instructional table tennis video in my opinion, despite the tight budget. Time spent: around 9 hours
