“Two things are irretrievable: time and first impressions.” (Cynthia Ozick)
Whether the foyer space is short and compact, or it's the size of a bedroom, it's the first thing your guests will experience when entering your house. It is not wrong to say that the entryway sets the first impressions, thereby setting the tone for the rest of the house. Use this opportunity to the fullest, making the space feel as inviting as possible. It's a no brainer that it must not look overcrowded or stuffed, neither it should be as empty as my wallet. Finding that perfect balance is the key to improving the ambience of your home. Browse through these few clever entryway decor techniques to make the foyer look both unique and stunning:

1.Turn on the lights
The best way to add glamor to the entryway is to add lighting. Usually, the ideal case would be to allow sunlight to do the job. But sometimes this is impossible due to the design chemistry. In such case, adding lights in the center that illuminate the entire area is the best choice. Go for simple yet beautiful and attractive lights. Your selection may consist of pendant or hanging lights, or a medium sized chandelier.
2. Please sit down
Make your guests feel more welcomed by adding a beautiful bench or couch. This furniture should not take up much space since it is mainly to facilitate the visitors when, for example, removing their shoes.
3.Look in the mirror
Mirrors are used to make small, compact rooms look large and airy all around the world. Mirror’s design is the key here. A rounded mirror is preferred since it makes the space stand out while performing its job: not only brighten up the entryway space, but to also create an illusion of more area available.
4. Livegreen
Adding some greenery to the entryway décor helps to enhance the feeling of peace and grace. Choose from a selection of indoor plants to make the place look more lively and colorful. The plants can be either hung or placed on the floor depending on the design of the space.

5. Go bold for the door
Even before entering the foyer, the guests will lay their eyes on the front door. Want to make it look dramatic? Pick a bold color (red, black, red-purple etc) that steals their attention, making it a focal point. However, this should follow with a brightly colored interior to create the perfect balance.

6. Cover those floors
You'll be surprised what a rug can do. It is not just placed to cover up space or define the limits to the foyer, but the immense beauty and style it adds to it, is often not considered when choosing a rug/carpet for such area. Don't place it under furniture. Let it shine on its own!

7. Multi-purpose is the key
When selecting a furniture, choose that doubles its use. For example, most people prefer an elegant, graceful, yet multi-purpose console table. A console table allows for attractive decorations to be placed on top, while providing space for shoes or keys underneath. This will not only help you prevent wastage of space, but also make the area look tidier.

8.Design the walls
Pick a wallpaper instead of straight up painting. You'll be able to find much more options to decorate the entry wall while enhancing the overall mood of the area.

9.Provide storage
You need to have a specifically designed storage area for day-to-day items such as bags, umbrella, or keys to make the place look cleaner.

10.Get a hanging shelf
If the space on the floor is limited, buy yourself a floating shelf with built-in key holder points and enough space for at least a book. Don't let the walls go to waste.

Follow these entryway ideas to put forward the best impression for your house.
