I created a remote onboarding programme from scratch for a training agency.

The Problem

After experiencing rapid growth, this training agency found itself hiring and needing to onboard a larger than usual number of new hires. Their unstructured approach to onboarding was no longer fit for purpose and the lack of documentation lead to confusion, new hire retention issues and communication breakdowns.

The Solution

A structured onboarding programme consisting of three key elements:
📚 A centralised source of information (using SharePoint)
🗓️ A structured onboarding programme for new hires to complete, covering company, team and role specific information & training, as well as all legal documentation (e.g. signing of confidentiality agreements).
👯 Social integration from pre-boarding throughout the onboarding process, through buddy system, 1-to-1 mentorship programme, welcome calls, virtual office tours, introductory calls and a clear “point-of-contact” reference sheet.

Outcomes

❣️ All around positive feedback from new hires
😌 Reduced stress levels and significant time saved for managers
