Overview

Skull Chatter is a compelling narrative centered around the life of athlete Nate Weston and his journey amidst the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, capturing the shifting pressures of life during this tumultuous period. This captivating story is conveyed through the art of movement, focusing specifically on parkour. The Skull Chatter collection features a 12-minute parkour/freerunning video, a carefully curated clothing line, and a captivating photo book, all offering a multi-faceted exploration of resilience, self-expression, and the power of movement.

Problem & Solution

The project required long hours dedicated to its completion, alongside numerous revisions. As the first significant venture I spearheaded at the company, it required diligent art direction for the clothing collection and photo book. Despite limited prior experience, I embraced the opportunity for growth and continuously refined my skills throughout the process. Working closely with the athlete, we collaborated on multiple revisions, fine-tuning layout designs and carefully selecting photographs for the book. Overcoming these challenges required adaptability and effective communication to ensure a successful outcome.

Results

The results of this project were varied, with positive feedback from those who viewed and purchased it. However, the overall engagement fell short of our expectations. Reflecting on this, a more comprehensive marketing approach, targeting a wider and more diverse audience, could have yielded greater success in terms of overall sales. Moreover, I gained valuable insights into creating compelling and cohesive social media posts and layouts, something I would better implement in future projects.
