Project Overview

Post Chrome is a visual exploration of digital erosion, texture, and the tension between mechanical precision and organic decay. This series reflects on how our visual identity shifts in the post-digital era  where clarity dissolves into distortion and silence carries as much weight as sound.
Each composition serves as a document of the in-between: between light and glitch, structure and noise, precision and collapse.

Concept

The series examines chromatic harmony versus digital corrosion, inspired by post-minimalist design principles and the visual poetry of glitch. By treating distortion as a form of language, Post Chrome translates error into emotion  transforming data loss and pixel decay into visual texture.
“A study of post-chrome identity through texture and minimalism.”

Visual Direction

Style: Glitch minimalism / Neo-digital brutalism
Mood: Cold, nostalgic, precise
Color Palette: Cyan-gray, noise white, desaturated chrome,B&W
Texture: Digital grain, scanline interference, distortion overlays

Design Approach

The project blends analog photography with digital interference. Every layer of noise, every chromatic split, serves a conceptual purpose  symbolizing the tension between harmony and entropy.

Techniques

VHS-style distortion overlays
Chromatic aberration
Noise texturing & displacement mapping
Typographic contrast using blackletter and modern sans-serif forms

Typography

The typography reflects duality:
Blackletter evokes heritage and decay.
Modern sans-serif represents precision and control.
Their interaction creates a visual dialogue between the past and the post-future

Series Breakdown

N°01 – Silence and Distortion A composition exploring time, light, and urban isolation. The clock motif symbolizes repetition and digital decay a moment suspended between signal and static.

N°02 – Texture and Collapse An abstract composition where waveforms of cyan noise merge with glitch textures, representing the collapse of order into organic motion.

Tools Used

Adobe Photoshop
Adobe Illustrator
Custom glitch overlays and scanned textures

Closing Statement

Post Chrome is an ongoing visual study on the aesthetics of digital imperfection.
It embraces the glitch not as a flaw, but as the new standard of beauty in a world shaped by technology, decay, and memory
