Gender-Based Violence (GBV) remains a pervasive issue in South Africa, with alarming rates of violence against women and vulnerable populations. Recognizing the urgent need for innovative solutions to address this crisis, the Eyerus app was developed as a personal security tool that leverages technology and community support to combat GBV. The launch event attracted prominent stakeholders, including NGOs, community groups, government ministers, celebrities, and the King of the Zulu Nation, King Misuzulu kaZwelithini, underscoring the importance of the app in addressing GBV. The launch garnered significant attention from national press outlets, including News24, eNCA, Newzroom Afrika, YFM, The Star, and EWN, further amplifying the app's impact and reach.
