Mr. True States is a YouTube channel focused on unusual places, local history, geography, and lesser-known stories across the United States.
I worked on the channel’s ongoing content management and publishing workflow, helping keep each upload organized, consistently packaged, and aligned with the channel’s established content direction.
The Goal
The main goal was to build a more consistent system around the channel — making it easier to manage recurring uploads while keeping the content recognizable from one video to the next.
Rather than treating every upload as a separate piece, the focus was on creating a repeatable content structure.
Content System
The channel follows a clear state-by-state format, combining curiosity-driven topics with recognizable visual packaging.
My work involved supporting the content process across:
This helped maintain consistency across titles, topics, thumbnails, and published content.
Packaging & Consistency
Videos were structured around strong curiosity hooks such as forbidden places, unusual towns, creepy locations, and lesser-known destinations.
Combined with bold map-based thumbnails and recurring visual cues, this created a recognizable format viewers could quickly associate with Mr. True States.
Results
The channel grew to 10.9K+ subscribers with 47 published videos, while several uploads reached strong organic view counts:
178K · 121K · 116K · 112K · 95K views
The result was a more structured content operation with a consistent publishing system designed to support continued growth.
Managed and optimized YouTube content, including publishing, thumbnails, titles, and channel organization — helping drive views, consistency, and subscribers.
