LadX Project Overview

LadX is a digital shipping and delivery marketplace that connects travellers with people who need to send packages across African borders.
Through its platform, travelers can list unused luggage space and earn money by carrying parcels for others, while senders can find trusted travelers heading to their desired destination.
I partnered with the team at LadX to work on the product promo video animation for their launch, as well as a use case on their website The animation highlights all the advantages of using LadX as both a traveler and a sender.

Project Objective

To create a short, engaging motion video that introduces LadX as the smarter, faster way to move parcels across Africa. The video should instantly capture the frustration of costly, unreliable shipping and reveal how LadX connects verified senders with trusted travelers using AI-powered matching.

The Challenge

1. Communicating Dual User Journeys LadX serves two distinct audiences travelers and senders. The biggest challenge was conveying both experiences within one cohesive motion narrative. Each user flow had different goals and processes, yet the story needed to feel unified and easy to follow.
2. Simplifying Complex Processes Both user journeys involved multiple steps from listing trips and accepting requests to creating deliveries and tracking progress. Translating these detailed flows into clear, engaging visuals required thoughtful scripting, pacing, and design consistency.
3. Balancing Clarity with Brand Emotion While ensuring every scene communicated information clearly, the motion also had to express LadX’s brand values of trust, security, and simplicity. Achieving this balance between clarity and emotional storytelling was key to creating a seamless and impactful animation.

My Step-by-Step Approach

1. Research & Script Development

I started by studying the two user types: Travelers and Senders. Then mapped out their individual steps and identified the most important moments to highlight. This helped me define a clear story flow that connects both users in one seamless motion narrative.

2. Storyboarding & Scene Planning

Next, I sketched out the main scenes based on the script. The goal was to make the flow easy to understand, showing how travelers and senders interact without overloading viewers with too much information.

3. Styleframes & Visual Direction

I then moved into styleframing in Adobe Illustrator, mapping out the flow and transitions of each scene. Using a mix of clean illustrations, icons, and supporting visuals, I designed compositions that clearly communicate the core message while keeping the visuals dynamic and engaging. This helped set the right tone and ensure the visuals matched the LadX brand identity.

4. Animation & Motion Flow

After completing the styleframes, I transitioned to Adobe After Effects, where I created the animation with professional pacing, smooth transitions, and dynamic motion timing to maintain visual engagement. The typography was thoughtfully animated, paced for accessibility, ensuring it remained easy to read for all viewers.

5. Sound Design & Final Touches

After completing the animation, I added background music and sound effects that complemented the motion and deepened the emotional impact. These elements worked together to create an intuitive, immersive experience that kept viewers engaged.

Deliverable

The final deliverable is a 90-second motion video that visually captures the dual journeys of travelers and senders on the LadX platform. Designed to be engaging and clear, it aligns with LadX’s brand identity by combining storytelling, UI animation, and motion graphics to showcase the platform’s functionality and value.
The video was also integrated into the LadX website, enhancing the user experience by visually explaining the platform’s features and benefits to visitors.
