I created two digital art pieces named "Fruit Champenge" after the Bahamian soda "Goombay Fruit Champagne" and "Motion of the Ocean" for the prompt "Show Me Your Motion" for Art Lucya's 2024 Bahamian Art Gallery. Although I was not selected as a featured artist, I did enjoy creating relevant cultural pieces.
Fruit Champagne
The first was a Junkanoo dancer depicting the festive and energetic movement of Junkanoo and the pride Bahaminas have partaking in the event during the Junkanoo season.
The second was a female personification of Bahamian waters, displaying not only their treacherous nature in times of disaster but their beauty as well with bright and vibrant colours. There are also several nods to the Bahamas including the pink sand beach, the Sands Beer tent, the Disney cruise liner, the lighthouse and the cargo ship.
