The Challenge: A high-traffic Shopify SaaS application was experiencing processing bottlenecks, webhook timeouts, and database strain during peak synchronization events and bulk merchant operations.
The Solution: Architected and integrated an asynchronous background processing pipeline using Redis and BullMQ. Offloaded heavy tasks—such as bulk data synchronization, API webhooks, and scheduled merchant notifications—from the main request-response cycle into prioritized, retriable queue workers.
The Impact: Dramatically improved app response times, eliminated webhook dropouts during traffic spikes, and established a fault-tolerant job architecture capable of handling thousands of concurrent operations seamlessly.
