GIK (Genanggang Innovation and Creativity) is a super creative hub located at Gadjah Mada University. Physically built in 2022, GIK provides programs that unite aesthetics, science, technology in the movement of creative industries and humanities. Not only is it a space for the UGM campus community, GIK also provides space for people, communities and creative industries on a Yogyakarta, national and international scale.

GIK (Gelanggang Innovation and Creativity) is a vibrant creative hub at Gadjah Mada University, established in 2022. GIK fosters programs that merge aesthetics, science, and technology within the creative industries and humanities. It serves not only the UGM campus community but also offers space for local, national, and international communities, and creative industries.

The design brief for this project was intentionally broad, allowing participants the freedom to define their own design direction. The challenge was to encapsulate the five core values of GIK UGM—Imperience, Collaboration, Education, Inspirational, and Multidisciplinary—into a cohesive visual identity.

Interpreting GIK UGM's values was both challenging and rewarding, given the creative freedom allowed. My approach considered GIK UMG as a public space, which is characterized not only by the people and interactions within it but also by its architectural form. Drawing inspiration from the modern and futuristic design of the GIK UGM building, I crafted a logo that is fresh, professional, functional and conveys GIK's value.

Note: This project focuses exclusively on the logo design and its conceptual meaning, without extending to full design implementations. All derivative concepts and visual representations were independently developed by me and are not influenced by the organizing committee.

This project embodies my passion for design and my commitment to creating thoughtful, visually compelling solutions. I recognize that there is always room for improvement and further research to deeply understand stakeholder needs. I hope the project provides valuable insight into my creative process and dedication to the craft.
