Introducing Cohere.live ⚡ — A real-time virtual stage and collaborative community hub.
The challenge was bridging the gap between passive video viewing and high-engagement social interaction. Traditional live-streaming tools often feel disconnected; communities needed fluid live rooms, interactive breakout sessions, and persistent group discussions in one cohesive interface.
I architected and built the full-stack cross-platform ecosystem for both mobile and web:
Users can:
→ Join interactive live video stages with sub-second ultra-low latency
→ Break out into dynamic topic-based voice and video spaces
→ Engage in real-time threaded chat with rich media embeds and mentions
→ Explore community feeds, upcoming schedules, and member directories
→ Receive instant push alerts when speakers go live or events commence
Behind the Scenes:
Built with a modular frontend using React Native, Next.js, and TypeScript, backed by Node.js microservices. Integrated WebSocket pipelines and WebRTC for synchronized audio/video feeds. Applied strict memory management and UI thread offloading to guarantee steady 60fps animations during peak live attendance.
The result is a responsive, distraction-free environment that empowers creators and organizations to scale digital communities effortlessly.
