Valese is from Birmingham, AL. A graduate of the University of Alabama, she holds a degree in Broadcast Journalism. Her passion for media and marketing was cultivated at an early age when her parents required her to spend her summers in enrichment camps, learning video editing and public speaking. From there she began to create highlight tapes for local athletes, family members, and events. She believed that this would just be a pastime, however, after her first semester as an undergraduate student she recognized that she should pursue a career in media.
During her undergraduate tenure, Valese was able to acquire several internships for reputable companies, such as Cumulus Media and Alabama Public Radio. She also served as the Vice President and Event Coordinator of the Capstone Association of Black Journalists, a branch of the National Association of Black Journalists. She was an AAU Basketball Coach for the Alabama Premier 16U girls team, team trainer for Hoover High School football team, and team manager for the men's basketball team at Shelton State Community College. While working her internship at Townsquare Media, Valese discovered her passion for public relations and marketing, as her job was to assist the Promotions and Marketing Director. This led her to pursuing non-traditional media jobs upon graduation in December of 2015. She has worked in marketing and media for Freedom PowerSports, Hair Traffic, Clay Cooley Auto Group, and DexYP.
After three years of working in in Dallas, TX, Valese was able to hone her skills and recognize that small business owners and brands lack education to market their businesses effectively. Based on this fact, she has decided to step out on faith and offer her marketing services to small business owners who require assistance reaching a specific audience, as well as help maintain their existing clients. The services that Valese has to offer are: Press Kit Development, Media Relations, Brand Management, Press Releases, and much more. Valese plans to start several other businesses, is obtaining her Master’s degree in Sport Management and Marketing, and serves her community by mentoring young at risk girls through Girls, Inc. Her ultimate goal is to be one of the most successful women in the Public Relations and Marketing Industry.
