SMS Gateway with SMPP server

Built an end-to-end software project that was used to aggregate A2P SMS messages from companies all over the world and servers the biggest companies in Uganda and the rest of East Africa. Built with a stack of Ruby on Rails, MySQL, and Redis with Sidekiq we processed over 60 million SMS messages as a time-critical service used by Financial Institutions and Gaming Companies.

We achieved 99% uptime using well optimised databases and excellent bacend job management serving both a REST API and an SMPP connection.
