American Folk Kitchenware

The purpose of this project was to create a series of kitchen items inspired by researching 2024 trends and predictions in lifestyle and home goods.

The folk art's focus on quality over quantity and the incorporation of vibrant motifs and colors contribute to a visually rich

I referenced the art style of American folk art and hand-drew a series of motifs to use in my products. These motifs were commonly repeated in quilt-like patterns and around borders which I translated into my dishware. I used a minimal pallet with a mix of rich and more muted colors on an off-white base. These colors are common enough to fit in many types of kitchens and would complement any theme or occasion.
