Custom Ad Destination
For the ad products not limited to templates, like this pitch for CVS, I had complete flexibility to design and develop a campaign that matched the client's needs, budget and timeline.
This page concept was a curation of health and wellness articles, each with a corresponding letter of the alphabet.
Working with Templates
A template can make things more efficient in ad sales by decreasing the development work needed and reducing timelines for campaign launches. It can, however, be limiting in terms of design. Working at Dotdash Meredith, I learned to take these potentially limiting templates and use them in unexpected and fresh ways. This mock (right), using our Hotspot Destination template (left) was proposed to promote a new espresso machine of De'Longhi's.
Using a collage of different images for the hero and hotspot image spaces without simply filling each space with a single photo was just one way to spruce up this template. The default hotspots can also be replaced with an image upload, so a design was chosen that highlights the details of the coffee beans instead of blocking portions of the photo.

The Digital Issue is a lot more flexible than other templates that have specific limitations within the Dotdash Meredith CMS. Unlike others, this template serves as a guide for the general style of a digital issue. The goal here was to keep a cohesive look with other digital issues but still have it be unique and engaging through the use of bright photography and contrasting colors.
