DriveMate — Your Smart Trip Journal

Imagine a world where you never have to log mileage manually again. DriveMate runs silently in the background, tracks every trip automatically, and —whenever you need — turns your drives into polished, tax-ready reports with a single tap.
DriveMate is a smart mileage & trip journal for Tesla drivers that automatically tracks trips in the background and turns them into clean, tax-ready reports in a couple of taps.
I built the product end-to-end: a React Native app, a NestJS backend with Azure SQL, an admin dashboard, and a marketing site. The core challenge was making Tesla account connection feel fast and native while keeping the security and token lifecycle invisible to users. We implemented an in-app Tesla OAuth2 (PKCE) flow, reliable token refresh, and clear inline error states — so users stay logged in and don’t get bounced back to auth screens.
Key features I delivered: • Automatic + manual trip logging with map-based route preview and rich trip details (stats, timestamps, insights) • Filtering and organization for trip history (vehicle, category, date range) • Pro subscription flow with native iOS/Android purchases, server-side receipt validation, webhooks, and cron checks • In-app support chat with attachments and conversation history • Admin tools to monitor users, trips, plans, and subscriptions
Outcome: a cohesive, production-ready ecosystem that removes mileage logging friction and keeps syncing, billing, and support smooth for the user.
P.S. Attached: a detailed case study with flows, screens, and implementation notes. 🔥
