UMA Sound Lantern

Developed from concept to production during my time as Lead Designer at Pablo Designs, the UMA Sound Lantern fuses warm, ambient LED light with rich 360 degree sound. The elemental form, minimal interface and unparalleled functionality yield a truly innovative product that is a joy to experience. UMA's portability and bluetooth connectivity allows the user to bring light and music to any indoor or outdoor space. It was a pleasure to collaborate with Italian Designer Carmine Deganello as well as Pablo Pardo in the creation of this iconic design.

UMA is undoubetebly the most challenging design I have helped developed and brought to market. The product would not have become a reality without the incredible support of the Pablo Studio design team and great mechanical and acoustical engineers. The resulting elemental form and intuitive interface hides the complexity of bluetooth connectivity, warm-dim LED technology, lithium ion battery and 360 degree audio. UMA was a great excericise in holding strong to design principles while being flexible to technological and mechanical constraints.
