I am never one to shy away from any product that makes my body feel better. If you aren’t in your thirties yet, you may not quite understand the bliss that comes with a supportive pair of shoes or a really good knee brace. (kidding, but also not..)
Better than a supportive knee brace is the Pranamat ECO. I bought this mat last year with a discount code, after stalking Pranamt’s page for about a year or two. Every crunchy, natural living, yogi-loving influencer I follow raved about it, so I decided to give it a shot.
We previously had a lotus-style acupressure mat from amazon that “worked” well enough for us, but it wasn’t amazing so I wasn’t sure what the difference would be with this mat.
As someone who has tried both mats, let me give you the talking points on why Pranamat is the GOAT.
The quality of the Pranamat is unmatched. The materials are 100% Natural coconut fiber, natural linen, and untreated cotton. It’s weighty without being a pain to lug around is the design is beautiful. Love the color range.
It hurts. I know this is a weird reason to love a mat, but when I say hurts, I mean it #hurtssogood (which is their motto at Pranamat). Trust me when I say, if you give it about 10 minutes, your body will immediately begin to relax. The lotus flowers apply pressure to specific areas to relieve stress and tension, and I notice any pinched nerve sensations gone within minutes. When I am done with my Pranamat session, I feel like I had the most relaxing massage. I have truthfully, nearly fallen asleep on it. I did not have this experience with the Amazon one I tried on Amazon.
It forces me to focus on my meditation. I, like most of us, struggle with focus during meditations. This mat, in part because of the stimulation of the pressure points, has forced me to focus on my breathing, which is a key component of mediation. Focusing on the breath immediately begins to regulate the nervous system and helps to increase awareness of the meditative state. This is probably my favorite way to use the mat, in addition to its pain relief and tension-clearing benefits.
Overall, I get the hype and recommend this mat for anyone (even if you’re 20 and thriving!) to try it out. They have an amazing customer service team and with a 5-year warranty, you can feel good about purchasing from them. Their website, www.pranamat.com, has a wealth of knowledge and information on how to use the various mat systems, if you are interested.
Now go find your #hurtssogood with Pranamat!
