One of my favorite landing pages since becoming a Squarespace Circle member in 2024, this project uses Squarespace’s new “Finish Layer” tools to create an engaging, exploratory user-experience.
My client, the lovely Heidi of Wild Belly, is a somatic coach for new mothers. One of the challenges we faced in her website strategy was her lack of professional photography. Turns out, this was actually an opportunity to get personal — and Squarespace's Block Animations helped us bring this core design element to life!
Tender family photos were first given a nostalgic treatment, then set to lift, jump, & grow on hover as if you’re thumbing through them yourself. This extra animation feels so intentional, especially considering that noticing physical stimuli is the very basis of Heidi's somatic work.
The new moms Heidi works with are hyper-aware they're creating memories at every step of their parenting journey, so providing visual cues that demonstrate this desire in real time was a huge win! The Finish Layer tools help us tell this story in new and engaging ways, while supporting the narrative arc at play in our webcopy (the place I start in all my projects).
What at first felt like 'lack' ended up being the unifying element behind this brand, and Squarespace's Finish Layer tools made implementation all the more successful.

Maggie needed a simple, straight-forward portfolio to show off the complex systems work she does in the world. Short pages with interactive & repetitive elements (like our pre-footer testimonials) help create expectations in order to fulfill them — just like Maggie.

Floss was a doll to work with and her style is so unapologetically HER! This website features her own hand-drawn font and is styled to mimic the print-layout of each of her books, down to the pre-footer cheetah print.

My own website is driven by the same narrative structure I use to support my clients, and includes a mega menu, custom fonts, and lots of texture to tell the story visually.
