I’ve been using Spline to create beautiful 3D web components for the past couple of years, and I love how accessible it makes both 3D workflows and implementation.
So when I heard Spline was building Omma, I was super excited.
The #ommabysplinebuildathon felt like the perfect opportunity to dive in and the potential is mind-blowing!
It got me thinking about how generative 3D tools could transform science communication and education. What if educators could easily create custom, interactive experiences for their learners?
With Omma, I was able to do exactly that.
I built a low-poly, interactive ocean environment featuring sea creatures, a research vessel, and, of course, an ROV for deep-sea exploring.
This project lets you dive into the deepest parts of the ocean, discover what lives there, and even get up close and personal through a first-person ROV cam (Night vision included!)
