Most resumes look "off" for one reason: the sizes and spacing are random.
Here are the exact specs I use on every resume I design:
1 - Name: 22 to 26 pt, bold
2 - Section headings: 12 pt
3 - Body text: 10 to 11 pt
4 - Line spacing: 1.15
5 - Space between sections: 12 to 14 pt
6 - Margins: 0.75 in on all sides
Works in Word, Canva and Google Docs. Save this post for your next update
What is your body text size right now? Comment the number and I will tell you if it is right.

Two resumes. Same person. Only one gets a call back.
A) • has the photo, the colors and the long objective.
B) • has one font, clear sections and white space.
Which one would you shortlist? Vote A or B and tell me why in one line. I will reply to every comment.

IronForge Fitness Club: complete brand identity concept for a modern gym. I designed the dumbbell logo, a bold "No Excuses" poster, a membership card and a social media post in a high-energy black and orange style.
