For this project, I animated a client's book cover to give it more presence and energy perfect for grabbing attention on social media or a book launch page. The character and background were separated into layers in Photoshop, then animated in After Effects with subtle movement in the hair, lighting, and background elements to add depth and drama to the piece. It's a good example of how a single illustration can be turned into a short, eye-catching animation great for promo, teasers, or just making a cover stand out online.

Another project in the books 📚✨ This one was a book cover animation for a client. Instead of a static cover, the client wanted it brought to life to grab attention and stand out online. Same process as always: separated the artwork into layers in Photoshop, then animated it in After Effects adding movement to the character, lighting, and background elements to give the cover some drama and depth. It's a great example of how animation isn't just for full book read-alouds even a single cover image can be turned into something eye-catching for marketing, social media, or a book launch.

Hi, I'm Rafiu Uthman 👋 I'm a 2D animator who turns children's storybooks into animated read-aloud videos bringing flat illustrations to life with character motion, word-synced narration, and music. My process: I take the original book art, separate every character and background piece in Photoshop, then animate everything in After Effects 👍 👍 :adding subtle movement, syncing text to the voice so kids can follow along, and adding music to set the mood.
