Meet Petlancer: The Ultimate Freelancer Sidekick 🐾 As a freelancer, staying motivated through intense deep-work blocks can be hard at times, so I wanted to marry that 90s nostalgia and fun of Tamagotchis with a practical productivity hub to create the ultimate focus companion. Fun fact: In real life, my core motivation to work is providing the best possible life for my 9 pets (3 cats, 1 dog, and 5 goats!). So, I built an interactive app where your actual freelance output directly translates into taking care of your virtual pixel pet. Key Features: ⭐ The "Choose Your Starter" Onboarding: a setup screen where you choose and name your companion - whether that's a cute cat, a happy dog or a silly goat ⭐ The "Productivity-Meets-Fun" Dashboard: on the left is your fun side - with your pet, along with its Hunger, Cleanliness, and Energy bars. On the right is the productivity side - with a 25-minute Pomodoro timer and your daily to-do list. Completing pomodoros and checking off your daily tasks earns you credits that you can spend to feed, clean or play with your pixel buddy. As a first-time user of Wonder, it's definitely one of those tools I can see myself using again in the future. I love how it works so well with my casual-style prompts, it feels like I'm just chatting with a chat-based app like Gemini. I also really like that, at the end of each implementation, it suggests next steps or asks questions along the way if needed. You really feel like it's your partner in crime rather than just an AI that's doing what you tell it to do. And of course, you can check out my design file here: https://app.wonder.so/freelancingwithsilvia/files/019f3960-2948-7f1b-8079-f7280babb4ae

Sidekit: The Ultimate Freelancer Sidekick The Vision: Freelancing shouldn't be a solo journey. I built Sidekit as a community-driven platform where independent workers connect, share resources, and level up together. Design (Powered by Mobbin): I used Mobbin to study top-tier information architecture, ensuring Sidekit feels professional yet intimate. Aesthetics: I drew from OrbSocial and PillowTalk for a sophisticated "Dark Mode" that reduces visual noise and encourages deep work. Dashboard: Inspired by Numo, I built a minimal checklist dashboard. I kept it distraction-free and added an XP reward system to gamify daily freelance tasks. Onboarding: I adapted PillowTalk’s "Start Here" flow into a guided welcome experience, ensuring new members feel supported the moment they join.

oof! finally able to share the final piece!! if you haven't been keeping up with my updates: ⭐ on day 1 I brainstormed alongside Gemini, merging my ideas with theirs and ending up with an outline of what I wanted to do for this challenge ⭐ day 2 I collected the raw footage I filmed and started putting together a folder with all my assets ⭐ day 3 I dove into Envato for the first time in years and found stock video, music and sfx, and used AI to alter both one of my own clips and a stock one ⭐ day 4 was for the final touches, where I recorded the voiceover and put all the other assets together into the video you can see below - my final submission! (I also attached a screenshot of what my final project folder looked like - organized by source of each asset) my biggest AI win was definitely the clip where I asked it to replace my water bottle with the coffee machine and it mimicked my rings and tattoos without me even asking my AI flop, where I decided to intervene because AI just didn't do it justice, was the voiceover - it just felt off and emotionless, and instead of trying to tweak it to perfection I decided to just pick up the mic and do it myself! I'm also gonna be sharing this final video on my Instagram @freelancingwithsilvia - feel free to follow me there for all the freelancing vibes 🤩

As a marketer and business owner, I know one thing: in 2026, if your business doesn't have both a website and at least one social platform, it feels a bit sus... 😒 That’s why for this challenge it took me less than a minute to choose my favorite local spot: Coffee Village, an eclectic, quirky coffee shop in Palmela that serves the most amazing cappuccinos and cheesecakes 🤤 But...despite their incredible charm and delicious treats, their online presence wasn't doing them justice - hence why I decided to give them the digital home they deserve ✨ 🟥 BEFORE BASE44 They had no website whatsoever, and their custom cake orders were completely scattered across a landline phone, Facebook messages, and Instagram DMs. Managing this during holiday rushes like Christmas and Easter must've been CRAZY 😵💫 🟩 AFTER BASE44 I built a fully responsive, bilingual (PT/EN) website that both reflects their unique decor - including their signature wall stripes and dark wood tables - and speaks directly to the audience they're trying to attract! You can see it for yourself 👉 https://coffeevillage.base44.app As for that cake order situation...that's where the automation came in! I built a streamlined cake order system, so customers can submit their orders in one centralized place. The backend workflow automatically: 👉 Triggers an instant email confirmation to the customer. 👉 Sends a structured email summary directly to the owner. I'm handing the site over to the owner tomorrow and can't wait to see their reaction!!! Next up on my to-do list? Bringing my professional camera to the shop to shoot even better photos and videos for them, both of the space and the food & drinks! Here's to helping local businesses glow! 🥂

An AI-powered Spotify widget: describe a feeling, get a playlist. The landing page had to do the same thing — hit a mood in the first second, before anyone reads a headline. Grass, sky, motion. Product screenshots animate in, so the value prop sells itself without a video demo. Built in Framer

Built a small tool with Claude Code for designers and devs who are tired of fighting with font-feature-settings in CSS. Font Freezer lets you bake OpenType features (tabular numbers, small caps, ligatures) and variable font axes directly into the font file itself — so the font just works everywhere, no CSS required at render time. Useful when email clients, After Effects, or native mobile apps ignore your CSS entirely. https://fontfreezer.com

While everyone is testing out the new Framer logo shaders, I decided to vibe-code my own Liquid Glass effect. Focused on achieving that perfect organic "liquid" distortion. The way it handles complex shapes like the Claude logo is just… 🤌

Mike Smith (https://x.com/mikesmith187) shared Contra's Brand Identity Figma file (https://www.figma.com/design/Qo64brwGBmObIrPauXVxe1/Contra---Brand-Identity--public-?node-id=1560-162319&t=NMVuPB6IBlvk9IJA-1) — a masterclass in detail. The abstract Contra grid hooked me: simple yet perfectly echoing the logo. I rebuilt that grid via vibe‑coding using v0 (https://v0.dev/). Huge surprise: v0 dropped 100 credits on my account (thanks Vercel) — instant motivation. Result: a page where anyone can upload an image and generate an abstract grid in the Contra style. Last week I shared a retro dial radio UI experiment. This version improves the experience with streaming support, a custom logo, and a halftone background from Paper Design. It’s a fun study in scroll-driven motion, feedback, and tactile affordances. Try the demo: https://lnkd.in/eJdj8Bic

𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐔𝐈 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫? #5 Any time someone pays or sends money, there’s a mix of trust, urgency, and stress. That’s where good UI really matters. A checkout is all about speed. People pick a saved card, add a new one if needed, and move on. The UI should keep things fast and clear. A transfer flow is different. People slow down and double-check the name, amount, and account number. They want certainty. This is about clarity and reassurance, not extra steps. Both involve payments, but the mindset is completely different. When money moves, you’re not just designing screens. You’re designing peace of mind.

𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐔𝐈 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬? #4 The Login screen A login is more than a form. It’s the first impression — the small gate between curiosity and conversion. Here’s what a good login gets right: - Simple and focused: only one primary action, no distractions, no clutter. - SSO option: a quick “Continue with Google” can be the difference between logging in or giving up. - Clear alternatives: links for Sign up and Contact support keep users from feeling stuck. - Emotional context: I used Midjourney to create the beach visual because even small visuals can spark motivation. You’re not just signing in. You’re starting your vacation. When teams rush through login screens, they forget it’s often the first UX a user experiences. UI details are not just decoration — they set the tone for the entire product experience.
