Built this hero section with a WebGL shader running underneath editorial typography. Here's the breakdown. The background isn't an image. It's PlasmaWave โ€” a live shader from ReactBits, rendering in real-time using OGL (WebGL). What I tuned: โ†’ Warm gold/plum color pair instead of the default purple-cyan โ†’ Vignette + grain layered on top โ€” kills the "AI-generated" look, adds film texture โ†’ Serif typography instead of the usual sans-heavy SaaS look โ†’ Editorial nav/footer โ€” minimal, magazine-style, not "startup landing page" Built with Lovable + ReactBits. The shader itself runs on the GPU โ€” two animated plasma bands blending into each other, customizable speed, bend, rotation, all live. Sanket Sonmali - Portfolio Just shipped a new personal portfolio and I'm genuinely excited about how it turned out. It's a single-page experience built on Next.js 16 (App Router), React 19, and TypeScript, styled with Tailwind v4 using a CSS-first token system so the whole palette - including a full light/dark swap - lives in one place. Every scroll-driven reveal, curtain animation and pinned section is GSAP 3 + ScrollTrigger, and the 3D work is hand-written Three.js: a wireframe icosahedron that leans toward your cursor, an ambient particle field that mirrors itself over inverted panels, and a 404 page where that same sphere has quietly fallen apart. The fun part was the engineering underneath the polish - a theme swap that animates as a clip-path sweep through the View Transitions API, scroll restoration that survives client-side navigation, and WebGL that's gated off small screens entirely so mobile never pays for decoration it can't see. This project is an experimental creative frontend portfolio focused on interactive storytelling and immersive web experiences. I built it using Three.js, GSAP, ScrollTrigger, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS to explore how motion, 3D scenes, and scroll interactions can work together in a modern responsive website. The experience includes scroll-controlled 3D animation, pinned storytelling sections, horizontal scrolling, animated transitions, custom interaction effects, and responsive layouts across different screen sizes. The goal was to create a website that feels more like a visual experience than a standard portfolio. I structured the project with reusable JavaScript modules and data-driven content so sections can be updated or expanded without rebuilding the entire experience. I also included responsive behavior and reduced-motion considerations to keep the experience accessible and usable across different devices. This project helped me strengthen my skills in creative frontend development, Three.js, WebGL, GSAP timelines, ScrollTrigger, responsive interaction design, animation performance, and building visually engaging experiences without relying on a heavy framework.
