People decide how our world functions. People also run AI companies—why are they already choosing to forget their humanity?
A touch dramatic? Maybe, but the Higgsfield fumble (yikes) really makes me wonder. I'm not an AI evangelist or a detractor. I use it, it’s helpful, it’s also not actually intelligent, and might be causing a drought in my area. (As a copywriter, I’m also like first in line to be replaced, HA)
As people, we decide how we create, implement, and use technology. So, if the threat of losing our livelihoods feels real, why not build a different future with AI? What makes the team behind Higgsfield so sure their own technology, their own leadership team won’t come for their jobs next?
At the end of the day, PEOPLE use AI, so like, maybe don’t forget that?

Very thoughtful take Andrea! Honestly, The ones hyping are the ones who are themselves trying to stay afloat with the latest developments of AI and no doubts its very consuming. Like you, I tend to use AI where I find them most helpful and just leave the future of AI and where...

I hear you! Also, I'm sort of a believer in the idea that inventions can only be as good/moral/impactful/positive as the people behind them. Exploitative practices going in will lead to exploitative practices coming out, just like the old saying, "you get what you put in" 🙃

I think this is the real tension: AI can be useful and harmful depending on incentives. If companies don’t build with human impact in mind, the tech just accelerates the damage.

This is such an important conversation right now. Tech companies need to remember that humans are the reason they exist in the first place. You said it perfectly. We can use AI without losing our soul.
