3D Hydrological Terrain Analysis in Sinai This project presents a 3D GIS-based hydrological analysis of the Sinai region, focusing on basin structure, watershed boundaries, stream order, and flow direction. The goal was to transform elevation and hydrology data into clear 3D terrain visualizations that explain how water moves across the landscape.
The work includes DEM processing, terrain modeling, basin delineation, watershed extraction, stream network generation, stream order classification, and flow direction analysis. Each map was rendered as a 3D terrain block with a clean cartographic layout, including title, legend, north arrow, scale bar, and elevation-style surface presentation.
This type of project is useful for watershed management, flood risk assessment, drainage planning, environmental analysis, desert hydrology studies, and geographic education. By presenting the results in 3D, the project makes complex hydrological patterns easier to understand than a normal flat 2D map.
