Their WordPress portfolio loaded so slowly, it had a Google score of 25. For award-winning directors building campaigns for Porsche and Red Bull - that kind of performance doesn't work.
The problem wasn't a lack of good work. It was a site that actively undermined their credibility. Every client Googles them before a call. The first impression was a slow-loading WordPress site.
I rebuilt it in Framer. The main challenge was how to feature a lot of high-quality video content without making visitors wait. I built a custom preloader and a Vimeo hover system that loads video progressively. Visitors see the site instantly, and reels load in the background.
The Google performance score went from 25 to 80.
What's the one thing you always check on a client's site before starting work?🙌 https://taylorreid.ca/

25 to 80 while keeping all that video content is a great case study on its own. For me the first thing I check on a client's site is how fast the actual content loads versus the chrome around it, that's usually where the real story is. What's yours?
