What 40 Minutes of Testing Revealed
Today I tested an early stage startup.
I wasn’t looking for crashes. I was looking for friction.
In less than an hour, I found issues that could affect user trust and the overall experience:
• Authentication friction
• Confusing AI behavior
• Features users couldn’t complete
Most users won’t report these problems.
They’ll simply leave.
That’s why I believe QA isn’t just about finding bugs. It’s about identifying the small issues that impact onboarding, trust, and retention before they become expensive.
This is the kind of testing I enjoy. Helping teams ship products that users can rely on.

Would you actually use something this minimal day-to-day?
Users don’t explore products randomly. They follow clues.
If a button, label, or section doesn’t clearly show what will happen next, users hesitate or ignore it.
That clarity the small signals that guide users forward is called information scent.
When the scent is strong, users feel confident clicking and exploring. When it’s weak, they get lost or drop off.
Good UX makes every action predictable and easy to understand without explanation.

A working demo is not the same as a production-ready product.
Sometimes the best thing you can do for your client is delay deployment until the product is truly ready.
The project is feature complete.
Everything works perfectly in the demo.
So naturally, my client wanted to deploy it.
But during the final review, I found a few production-readiness issues.
And that's something many people misunderstand...
"It works" doesn't always mean "It's ready for production."
Before a real launch, a product needs proper testing, monitoring, security, reliability, and scalability.
If we skip these checks, the real users—not the developers—will find the bugs.
Delaying deployment isn't about slowing down the project.
It's about protecting the client's business and ensuring a successful launch.
A good developer doesn't just know when to deploy...
They also know when to say, "Not yet."
