ONE-PERSON COMPANY: AN IMPOSSIBLE ARCHIVE
One-Person Company: An Impossible Archive imagines a nineteenth-century illustrated record of an AI-native business run by a single founder. Inspired by Owen Jones’s 1868 ornament plate in The Met’s public-domain collection, the series translates private servers, automated workflows, and continuous learning into intricate decorative systems. Server racks become architectural panels, workflows unfold as repeating borders, and new knowledge branches into ornamental patterns. Conceived for the Recraft × Contra Styles Challenge, the project asks what a company built around invisible software might look like if every process had to become a printed ornament.
Before → after: the archive original, a portable company, private infrastructure, and practical AI learning. The full six-image series and original reference live in the Recraft project.
