For independent designers, that changes the conversation completely. Clients will start asking why they need you. Your answer has to be something the tools can't replicate.

If you are in early stage of design career Three things that still matter and always will.

One, learn the real foundations. Design systems, product thinking, the unglamorous fundamentals. Not surface level. Deep. Two, develop your own taste. This takes years and it's worth every one of them. Three, learn to read the taste of others. Your client's vision. The culture of the team you're working inside. The feeling a product is trying to give someone. This translation skill is what makes you irreplaceable.

AI is an incredible collaborator. But it needs someone with judgment on the other end.

That's still you. Make sure you've done the work to deserve that seat.
