What AI search tools actually look for when deciding what to surface
AI tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google's AI Overviews don't work the way traditional search does. They don't just match keywords to pages. They evaluate whether a source is worth citing, and that is a different question entirely.
What they are looking for is evidence that a business is real, credible, and specific about what it does. A website that speaks in generalities, uses vague service descriptions, or lacks any signal of actual experience is easy to skip over. A website that demonstrates specific expertise, references real outcomes, and is structured so that its content is easy to parse gives AI tools something to work with.
A few things that matter more than most business owners realize. Whether your site clearly states who you are and what you do in plain language. Whether your content demonstrates firsthand knowledge rather than generic information anyone could write. Whether other credible sources reference your business. Whether your contact information, location, and credentials are easy to find.
These are not new ideas, they are the same things that have always made a website trustworthy. What has changed is that AI tools are now making these evaluations automatically and at scale, and the businesses that show up in AI-generated answers are the ones whose sites are built to signal credibility, not just rank for keywords.
Getting found in AI search is less a technical problem and more a clarity problem. The sites that surface are the ones that are easiest to trust.

The problem is, "fast" usually means cutting corners.
I don't.
Here's how I build and launch a website in one week without sacrificing quality.
I only take on one project at a time. If it's your week, you have my full attention. That focus keeps everything moving.
Before I start building, I gather every asset, piece of copy, and reference I'll need. We align on the direction early with moodboards and inspiration, so there are no surprises halfway through.
I also build directly in Framer from day one. Clients actually really love seeing their live website immediately. They can click through it, experience it, and leave feedback on something that already feels real. It also removes the extra design to development handoff that often adds days or even weeks.
After launch, I stick around for another week to make sure everything runs smoothly and fix any small issues.

And that's where I spend my time. Crafting the details, polishing interactions, and making the website feel like a product, not just a collection of pages.
