Story Time! I discovered beer shortly after I landed in Melbourne to pursue my master’s in design. Ever since, I’ve looked forward to the day I’d get to work on branding for a beer company. Instead of waiting for that opportunity, I decided to imagine what a beer brand could look like if it had to compete with Indian market leaders like Bira or Simba. The idea was to create something for beer lovers, Gen Z, millennials, and anyone simply curious to explore. Enter Beer Republic. The goal was to move away from the mascot-heavy trend and build a visual language that feels premium and new age. Heavy type, vibrant colours, and a bold symbol that stands out.
