One topic I keep hearing in the freelance world is:
"AI is going to replace freelancers."
Personally, I see it a little differently.
Over the past year, AI has helped me speed up research, generate ideas faster, improve workflows, and spend more time on the parts of projects that actually require human thinking and experience.
To me, it feels more like an assistant than a replacement.
But I'm curious to hear from other freelancers.

"Sorry, I Used AI" Is Becoming the New "I Don't Know"
A few years ago, when someone couldn't explain their code, the answer was:
"I don't know."
Today, it's often:
"Sorry, I used AI."
AI helps us write code faster.
But generating code and understanding code are two different things.
Using AI isn't the problem.
Using code you don't understand is.
As developers, our value comes from:
✅ Understanding the logic
✅ Solving problems
✅ Debugging when things break
✅ Explaining why a solution works
Because when a bug reaches production, nobody asks:
"Was this written by AI?"
They ask:
"Can you fix it?"
AI can generate code.
Developers need to own it.
