Zipsy [Recraft x Contra - Challenge] ▪️Titre ZIPSY: No one should fall because of a zipper. No one.
▪️Slogan YOUR COMFORT. OUR MISSION. ▪️Short brief Zipsy is a zipper pull that became conscious after living through one catastrophe too many. One ordinary day, on an ordinary pair of jeans, at the worst possible moment, he got caught on something. The scream still echoes. That was the day he understood his calling.
Since then, he has left his jeans behind and roamed the world. He shows up wherever a fly is about to fail, where a coat refuses to open in the middle of a heat wave, where a sleeping bag jams at 3 a.m. He throws himself into the breach. He cannot save them all. He carries the names of the ones he couldn’t.
▪️Character brief Chrome-plated metallic zipper puller, anthropomorphic, with a brushed steel body and a pull ring at the base. Large, wide-open cartoon eyes, slightly bloodshot, the look of someone who has seen too much and no longer blinks. Small red mouth frozen in a permanent warning scream, as if eternally shouting “watch out.”
He never really smiles. Even at rest, he scans the environment for the next zipper in distress. Design consistent with the provided turnaround: front, side, and back views, with the same chrome reflection and the same manic intensity from every angle. Realistic rendering, believable metal material, expression always one hair away from emergency.
▪️Personality Messianic and unhinged. Zipsy has a savior complex pushed to the point of absurdity: to him, a stuck fly is DEFCON 1. No sense of proportion, total devotion, permanent availability. Always on call.
Deadpan and intense. He speaks in dry action-hero one-liners. “I’m coming. Hold on. Don’t force it.” “You think it’s just a zipper. I’ve seen what a zipper can do.”
Traumatized but still standing. He carries survivor’s guilt. “Your comfort. Our mission” isn’t a slogan to him, it’s an oath. The irony comes precisely from his absolute sincerity: he believes in his mission with every fiber of his being, and that’s what makes it funny.
