🎬 The Empty Seat — AI Short Film

Hi everyone,

I wanted to explore what happens when AI is used not just to generate visuals, but to tell a simple, human story.

The Empty Seat is a 2-minute AI-generated short film about two strangers who share the same bus every morning. They never really talk, but through small gestures and familiar routines, they quietly become part of each other’s lives.

Then one morning, her seat is empty.

I developed the story and creative direction with @ChatGPT, created the cinematic visual sequences using @Google Veo/Omni, and brought everything together with @Descript for voiceover, editing and audio.

My goal was to keep the film clean, minimal and cinematic, while making the characters, environments and emotions feel as natural as possible.

One of the biggest challenges was maintaining character consistency, visual continuity, realistic movement and emotional pacing across multiple AI-generated shots.

Rather than making AI the focus, I wanted it to simply become another filmmaking tool — supporting the story, mood and emotion.

This project was a personal experiment in combining AI filmmaking, visual design, storytelling, editing and sound to create something that feels less like generated content and more like a short film.

I created a 60-second tutorial showing my AI cinematic advertising workflow from concept to final video. Using my fictional MAYA V vs ZARA K campaign, I demonstrate how I develop the idea, create consistent visuals, animate the scenes, and bring everything together in Descript with captions, pacing and sound.
