Technical Documentation & Print‑Ready Document System
Overview
I build zero‑dependency, browser‑native documentation systems that generate professional, print‑ready PDFs and HTML deliverables. This project showcases the SitesByMac Document Generator — a toolkit that transforms JSON + HTML templates into fully inlined, self‑contained documents suitable for client proposals, resumes, contracts, and HTML5 banner ads.
Problem
Teams needed a way to produce consistent, branded, print‑ready documents without relying on headless Chrome, build tools, or server‑side rendering. Existing workflows were slow, inconsistent, and required technical overhead.
Solution
I designed a browser‑native document pipeline:
“JSON data + HTML template → generate.js → self-contained HTML → browser Print → PDF.”
This system enforces formatting standards, ensures print fidelity, and produces deliverables that can be shared directly from Downloads or email.
Key Features (from the README)
Zero dependencies — no server, no build tools, no headless Chrome.
Self-contained HTML output — CSS and images inlined automatically.
Print‑ready formatting rules
“@page { margin: 0 } — Full bleed… print-color-adjust: exact — Forces browser to render background colors.”
Multi‑page flow control
“min-height: 0 on print — Lets multi-page docs flow naturally past 11in.”
Template library including:
ATS resume
Federal resume
Two‑column resume
Letterhead business letters
Client proposals
Service contracts
Delivery receipts
HTML5 banner ads
CLI tooling (generate.js, package-banner.js)
Ad‑network‑ready banner packaging with size‑safe fallbacks
Print‑safe CSS, email‑safe CSS, and full class reference
Deliverables You Can Showcase on Contra
A client proposal generated from proposal.html
A resume generated from resume-ats-1page.html
A business letter generated from letterhead-letter.html
A service contract generated from service-contract.html
A banner ad package generated from banner-ad-300x250.html
Each one demonstrates your ability to produce:
structured documentation
consistent formatting
branded layouts
technical clarity
MOS‑level polish
tooling‑driven reproducibility
Skills Demonstrated
Technical documentation
Template engineering
Print‑ready formatting
Workflow design
Developer‑adjacent communication
Version control + directory architecture
Client‑facing document production
Automation + CLI tooling
Outcome
The SitesByMac Document Generator became a unified documentation system capable of producing resumes, proposals, contracts, receipts, and banner ads — all with consistent branding, MOS‑level formatting, and zero external dependencies. It reduced friction for both technical and non‑technical users and standardized deliverables across multiple client projects.
