When a WordPress website needs additional custom functionality, there are usually two options:
Use multiple third-party plugins. This is often the faster route, but it can impact performance and add unnecessary complexity.
Build a custom plugin that contains only the features the project actually needs.
If time allows, I always prefer the second approach.
A well-designed custom plugin keeps the admin area clean, improves performance, and makes future scaling much easier when new requirements arise.
More control, less bloat, and better speed.

A good developer doesn't always need to write more code.
Sometimes the best decision is:
Let's not build this.
If a feature doesn't solve an important problem, improve the user experience, or create business value, adding it only makes the product more complicated.
Over time, I've learned that knowing what not to build is just as important as knowing how to build it.
Less complexity. Better products.
