Three AWS mistakes I see small businesses make in their first month, and how to avoid them. 1) Using the root account for everything. Turn on MFA for root, create named IAM users, and lock root away. 2) No billing alerts. A forgotten test server can run for months. Set an AWS Budget with an email alert on day one, even at $10. 3) Clicking everything by hand. If your network and servers are built with Terraform, you get a written record of what exists and can rebuild it in minutes. I just opened an AWS Starter Setup service that covers all three plus your first server or website. Happy to answer AWS questions in the comments.
