This Ex Libris is designed for Karate teacher or “sensei” in Japanese. He practices the Shito-ryu style and has a big library. The idea is to have an Ex Libris with his name, the Shito-ryu logo and in style highly related to Japanese hand-carved lithography. The Ex Libris will be placed in teacher's fast collection of books about Karate and Ryukyu Kobujutsu. 

The customer provided a high variety of examples favourite Ex Librises with different styles. So I started with some initial sketches to figure out what the customer likes the most and where I need to move in my creative process.
