These are examples of different logo iterations that we went over in the last branding project.
We got the branding direction right from the start, but the logo wasn't quite in the right place. We went over 10 options. From a brutalist aesthetic to a more conservative approach. We went over conceptual and abstract directions, to more commercial concepts... Basically, we tried a bit of everything.
From these examples, not all of them are great, but it was a good exercise to push for creative alternatives within the same concept.

why is it so much harder to brand yourself than it is to brand a client?
I'm working on a MUCH needed rebrand for my own studio at the moment and the amount of second-guessing involved is genuinely shocking for someone who does this for a living. You're just so close to it! My studio is my baby, and I suppose it’s quite hard to assign a single five-colour palette to a baby…
That being said, I’m starting to really fall in love with the direction its moving towards and am so, so excited to share the final visual identity (including a new website!) once it’s finally ready. I’ve grown so much since I started two years ago, so I’m very much looking forward to having a brand that’s been caught up to speed.

BTW, just wanted to ask how to post like this, like a courousal style on contra, where you can swipe up the slides??
Has your rough ever ended up being the final?
This little guy was made for an Italian restaurant brand a looong time ago. I sketched him out in Procreate as a starting point before moving into a clean vector, but the sketch had so much more character that I just kept it.
The more slightly off, uncanny AI imagery I see, the more I fall in love with doodles and handmade craft. I’d love to see what you’ve made/drawn/painted recently <3
