Business: Rangdhanu Bridal by Nusrat
One-line description: A solo Dhaka bridal artist's Messenger inbox, turned into a self-serve booking system.
Description
The client Nusrat is a solo bridal makeup artist based in Dhanmondi, Dhaka. She serves brides across the city, from Uttara to Old Dhaka. Like most bridal artists in Bangladesh, she runs her entire business through Facebook Messenger and a notebook.
The problem (before)
Inquiries arrive late at night as one-line messages ("price koto?"), and each booking takes 15 to 20 messages of back-and-forth.
Weddings come as bundles (holud, wedding, reception on back-to-back days), so one bride means three separate negotiations.
In wedding season (Nov to Feb) her personal calendar and her booking notebook drift apart, causing double-bookings.
She chases bKash advance screenshots manually, and dates get "held" for weeks with no payment.
Every reschedule means more messages, and the same five questions (prices, travel, trial, advance, areas) get answered over and over.
The solution (after): A mobile-first booking site, since nearly every bride books from her phone, plus an admin panel that handles the follow-through for her.
For brides:
Multi-event booking in one go. Select holud, wedding, and reception together, pick dates, and see pricing instantly. No booking twice.
Real availability only. Slots are checked against Nusrat's connected calendar both ways, so anything blocked on her personal calendar can't be booked, and every confirmed booking lands on her calendar automatically.
bKash advance at checkout. A 30% advance confirms the booking automatically, with no screenshot chasing.
Self-serve rescheduling. Every confirmation email includes a reschedule link. It pre-fills the original booking, so the bride just picks a new date, and the old slot and calendar entry are cleared automatically. Nusrat sets the cutoff (default: 7 days before the event).
AI assistant (Lovable AI). It answers common questions instantly, any time of day, with no human needed.
For Nusrat (admin):
Instant notifications for every confirmed booking via WhatsApp and SMS, with her choice of channels in settings.
She trains the AI chatbot herself by adding FAQs and business info in the admin panel.
She manages services, locations, and travel times between Dhaka zones, so her schedule reflects real traffic.
She gets a bookings list and a schedule view of her whole season in one place.
A notification log shows every automated WhatsApp, SMS, and calendar action taken on her behalf.
What's simulated (and why) I don't have bKash merchant API access, so the payment step uses a sandbox I built to mimic the real bKash flow (number, OTP, PIN, with test values shown on screen). WhatsApp, SMS, and calendar sync run through mock connectors that log each action in the admin panel. The flows and data model are production-shaped, so going live means swapping in the real bKash, WhatsApp Business, SMS gateway, and Google Calendar APIs, not rebuilding.
Impact (hypothetical estimate) Before: about 15 to 20 messages and 30 to 40 minutes of owner time per booking, plus manual payment checks and calendar updates. After: zero messages to book. Nusrat's job is to show up and do the makeup.
