Why Profile Optimization is So Important on LinkedIn
When building a profile, you want it to look as professional as possible, it's your first impression. Here's what you should focus on to get the best results:
Profile picture: Make sure it's a headshot rather than a full-body photo, so people can really see who you are even when you're on your phone.
Your banner: Make sure you communicate clearly who you are and who you help.
Bio: This one's kind of tricky, as you've got to focus on the first 80 characters, which are the ones visible outside your profile (eg comment sections, explore page, etc)
Happy Sunday!

Great tips, Nicolas! That point about the first 80 characters of a bio being the most important is so true, it's often the only thing people see. Thanks for sharing!

Indeed, I think it’s often overlooked but very important. No problem at all!

This is right, your profile does the talking before you ever do, so if it’s unclear or generic, people bounce before reading a single post.

So true, it’s your first impression, so you gotta make it count!

This sounds obvious, but 90% of profiles still get it wrong. Especially the banner, lots of “cool visuals,” very little clarity

Does the 80 character truncation apply across desktop and mobile?

Great question! I believe the limit is 50 on desktop
