🛡️ Just shipped: WordPress Security Hardening — Blocked 92% attacks with Cloudflare FREE
Same agency site taskly-marketing.com was getting 400+ brute force/day + 60% bot traffic. Fixed it with FREE WAF only.
What I did (all FREE):
WAF: Block xmlrpc.php, .env, wp-config, .git exposure
Protect wp-login.php with Managed Challenge (not Block - so you don't lock yourself out)
Bot Fight Mode ON + Block AI Bots ON
Rate Limit: 5 requests / 10 sec to wp-login = Block 1 hour
SSL Full Strict → Grade A, Scrape Shield ON
Results: ✅ Bots blocked: 92% (8,742 threats) ✅ Brute force: 400/day → 3/day (99.25% down) ✅ xmlrpc attacks: 120/day → 0 ✅ Spam: 50/day → 2/day ✅ SSL: Grade B → Grade A
No paid firewall, no Wordfence premium needed.
