I built an n8n automation workflow for manufacturers/exporters who receive product and quote enquiries over email.
The workflow monitors Gmail, checks whether an email is a valid business enquiry, extracts key details using ChatGPT, and logs the enquiry into Google Sheets as a lightweight CRM.
It captures details such as product, quantity, delivery location, urgency, buyer country, ThreadID, and MessageID. It also uses Gmail ThreadID tracking so new enquiries and existing email chains are handled differently.
For new enquiries, the workflow sends an initial reply asking for missing designs/specifications. For existing threads, it can route the conversation separately and use stored context from Google Drive to understand where the customer is in the enquiry process.
The goal was to reduce manual admin, avoid missed enquiries, and help sales teams respond faster while keeping humans involved where needed
