Be aware.
Scammers are here!
I want to flag a scam that is actively targeting freelancers.
Someone contacted me offering to “rent” my Upwork account because their own account was suspended. They proposed:
• Full access to my Upwork and Payoneer accounts
• Remote control of my computer through AnyDesk
• A monthly payment in exchange for using my identity to submit proposals and complete work
They explicitly mentioned avoiding IP and device fingerprint detection.
This is account sharing, identity misuse, and likely fraud. If you agree, you risk:
• Permanent platform bans
• Frozen payment accounts
• Chargebacks and tax liability
• Your identity being used in scams
No legitimate professional needs to operate through someone else’s account.
If you receive anything similar, do not engage. Report and block.

I don't know if I'm making the right move or not. 😅
I've moved from Upwork to Contra, hoping for better opportunities.
Will it work out? Honestly, I don't know yet.
But I'm keeping my expectations high and giving it a shot.
So, say hi! I'm new here.
And if you're already on Contra, I'd love a few tips:
How did you land your first client?
What should a beginner focus on?
Any mistakes I should avoid?
Let's connect and help each other grow!
- Have a quality portfolio
- Implement SEO keywords so your portofolio actually shows up in search
- Keep improving your discovery score
- Apply to jobs early and personalize application
Good luck Maryam
This is my biggest client success story of my carreer.
It's hard to capture 3+ years of work into a single use case page.
Though I gave it a try (it's never perfect 😉)
Read the use case here and let me know what you think of the work. Thanks!🤙🏻
