The aim here was to show progress in a way that feels interesting.
We wanted something experimental, a bit more visual and unusual (even flashy) than what you typically see in enterprise software.
The result is an interactive timeline that shows how someone's skills are evolving over time. You can see the overall trajectory at a glance, then tap into any skill to watch it fluctuate across weeks or months. Aspects like communication, composure, confidence, each one broken down into sub-skills like verbal communication, active listening, written communication.
The summary tells you what's improved and what still needs work. But the design choice here was aesthetic as much as functional.
AI is changing how we design, but not why we design.
I recently participated in an AI-assisted design research project exploring hybrid and AI-only workflows. It was a chance to experiment, evaluate, and rethink how AI fits into a professional design process.
good design protects visitor energy
people do not arrive at your website with perfect attention
they arrive with tabs open
messages waiting
doubts already forming
and 3 other options one click away
so the page has to earn attention
then protect it
a vague headline makes them translate
a crowded hero makes them prioritize
generic claims make them question
hidden details make them hunt
unclear navigation makes them reorient
weak proof makes them hesitate
every small confusion creates a tiny withdrawal from their attention
and most visitors do not run out of interest all at once
they run out of energy gradually

scroll by scroll
doubt by doubt
good design gives that energy back
it makes the offer obvious before the visitor has to search
it puts details where questions naturally appear
it uses plain language instead of making simple things sound strategic
it creates hierarchy so the eye knows what to read first
it shows proof at the moment trust starts to wobble
it makes the next step feel expected
not like a decision from nowhere
that is the generous part of design
not decoration
not polish
not cleverness
reducing the effort it takes to understand
what this is
who it is for
why it matters
why it can be trusted
and what happens next
your visitor should spend their energy deciding
not decoding
