THE PROBLEM
An independent garage is often one or two people. When the mechanic is under a car, the phone rings and nobody answers. Missed call = lost job: the driver with a warning light simply calls the next garage. Quoting by phone is slow and blind, the admin (slots, confirmations, reminders, "your car is ready" calls) happens in the evening, no-shows leave bays empty, customers drift to chains that send reminders, and reviews only come if someone asks at the right time. Big chains have call centres and CRMs. A two-person garage has none of it.
WHAT PONT DOES
For the customer — a price and a real slot in under a minute, without a phone call. Describe the problem with a photo (up to 4), a sentence or your voice. The AI reads it and gives the likely system, urgency, 3 likely causes and an honest price range taken only from the garage's own price list ("first estimate — the mechanic confirms on site"). Price and free slots come BEFORE any personal data; booking needs a first name and a phone or email. Then: add to calendar (Google or .ics), directions (Apple Maps, Google Maps, Waze), a live tracking page, and a 24/7 assistant (text or voice).
For the mechanic — hands-free from under the car. He says "The Clio of Mrs Martin is ready", Pont shows the action, one tap on Confirm, the customer is notified. Nothing runs without confirmation. Today view, inbox sorted by urgency, week per bay, editable prices, hours and gallery.
The loyalty engine. A customer profile is created automatically, with predictive maintenance per car and per system (engine, brakes, tyres incl. winter-tyre rules, suspension, battery, A/C, technical inspection). One personalised reminder max per month, only with consent, unsubscribe in every email. A "My car" page shows each system's health and the next dates.
Reputation on autopilot. Review requests at the right moment; only real customers can post, with photos or a voice review; the garage replies publicly; negative reviews are never deleted.
THE AUTOMATIONS (all real, running on Base44's free plan)
New request → AI triage (category, urgency, causes, price range) · price shown → real free slots from hours, bays and bookings · booking → confirmation, calendar file, tracking page, garage alert · day before → reminder with one-tap reschedule · "Ready" by voice → customer notified, tracking updates live · job done → review request · maintenance due → predictive reminder · urgent request → garage alert. Each automation can be switched on/off, its timing and message edited, and shows its last runs. Time-saved figures in the Impact view are configured estimates, not measured studies.
WHAT IT CHANGES FOR THE GARAGE
He stays under the car. Fewer lost customers, clearer quotes, fuller and better-planned days, customers who come back without marketing work, a reputation he can see grow. No new hardware, no training: it runs on his phone.
HOW I BUILT IT WITH BASE44
Research first (what garages lose every day, what Base44's free plan can do), then a design system given to Base44 as the visual contract. Built in one day, prompt by prompt (about 25 prompts). After every release, an automated iPhone robot replayed the real journey on the published URL (photo, voice, iPhone keyboard, booking, reviews, garage) and the bugs it caught were fixed by Base44. Every screen was also checked on an iPhone until it felt native.
HONEST NOTES
Atelier Ferral is a demo garage (clearly labelled): public-square address, fiction-range phone numbers, demo reviews marked "Demo example". The garage view opens in a demo sandbox — judges can edit everything; changes stay on their device.

A home cleaning business loses jobs in two places: quotes that take a day to come back, and open quotes nobody chases. QuoteDesk handles both for Maple & Mop, a demo company.
What runs on its own:
• Priced on the server. The client sees a live, itemized price; the saved total is recomputed from the owner's price list, never trusted from the browser, in integer cents.
• The quote is emailed the second it is saved, with a link to book or pick another slot.
• One follow-up, never two: an hourly job nudges quotes still open after 24 hours, stamps them so it can't fire twice, and skips anyone who booked.
• A day-before reminder for every booked cleaning, also sent once.
• AI reads the client's notes: "two cats, fourth-floor walk-up" becomes Pets and Stairs flags plus 30 extra minutes for the crew.
• Owner dashboard: quotes today, booking rate, expected revenue, bookings after a follow-up, a 7-day schedule and an email timeline per quote.
